Ramaphosa Faction Racks Up Two Key Victories This Week

SOUTH AFRICA
  • This week has seen two landmark victories for the Ramaphosa camp:

1) Public protector's case vs Gordhan thrown out and most likely may see her removed from office
2) NEC moving closer to forcing Magashule to step aside.

  • ANC SG Magashule is the head of the corrupt anti-Ramaphosa faction and has been a major hindrance to local reform through factional infighting.
  • One thing to note is that Magashule warned he would implicate other high ranking regional officials in acts of corruption if he goes down
  • This could see a sizable increase in factional infighting and possible far-reaching reshuffle
