REFINING: Earliest Litvinov Refinery Bomb Deactivation on Thursday or Friday

The bomb deactivation at the Litvinov refinery will take place on Thursday or Friday at the earliest, Unipetrol said.

  • The previous indication was for it to take place on Wednesday, followed by the process of resuming operations.
  • The refinery in the Czech Republic went offline on Aug 21 because of an unexploded WW2 bomb found in a remote part of the site.
  • The production halt could last 8-9 days according to Orlen CFO last week.
  • The refiner declared force majeure last week as it can’t meet contractual deliveries of oil and chemical products.
