REFINING: Moscow Oil Refinery Unit Resumed Operations on Sept. 10

Gazprom Neft’s Moscow Oil Refinery resumed operations on September 10 at crude distillation unit-6 (CDU-6), according to Reuters sources.

  • Operations at the unit were suspended following a drone attack on Sept. 1.
  • Crude processing rates at the refinery fell by 150kb/d in early September from the August average following the attack, Bloomberg said earlier this week. Russia’s crude processing fell to an average of 5.33mb/d during Sept. 1-4 from 5.52mb/d in August.
  • Russian offline primary oil refining capacity is set to rise 34% m/m to 3.87m tons in September, from 2.95m tons in August according to Reuters calculations, due to drone attacks and seasonal maintenance.
