MNI BRIEF: Jefferson Sworn In As Fed Vice Chair, Kugler As Gov

Federal Reserve Governor Philip Jefferson was sworn in Wednesday as vice chair of the Board of Governors, the U.S. central bank said.

Economist Adriana Kugler also took the oath of office as a Fed governor, while Lisa Cook was sworn in for her second term as governor. All were confirmed by the U.S. Senate last week.

Jefferson's term as vice chair ends on September 7, 2027, and his term as a Board member ends on January 31, 2036. Kugler's term as a member of the Board ends in 2026, and Cook's term ends in 2038.
