STOCKS: Regional Asia-Pacific stocks have struggled in early trade this week.
Wall St.'s negative lead from Friday (as the major indices closed lower, albeit
at session highs) & continued impasse re: the U.S. government shutdown provided
pressure early on, with Japan out on holiday.
- The soft breakdown in China trade data added fresh downside impetus.
- Hang Seng -1.5%, CSI 300 -0.8%, ASX 200 -0.3%.
- U.S. index futures also struggled on the same themes.
- S&P 500 -21, DJIA -186, NASDAQ 100 -65.
