Reports of Large Earthquake Near Capital

  • Monitoring headlines on the terminal regarding an earthquake in Colombia. The national geological service have reported a 5.9 magnitude earthquake at 12:04 local time in the town of El Calvario near capital Bogota, according to a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Separately, the USGS have reported a 6.3 magnitude quake 16km North of Cumaral.
  • According to the reports buildings in Bogota swayed in the apparent earthquake with other wires reporting this prompted people in offices and restaurants to be evacuated.
