BOND SUMMARY
BOND SUMMARY: Risk-on has been the theme in global bond markets this morning.
There is very little on the economic data calendar this morning with the final
Eurozone CPI print the highlight. Both the M/M and Y/Y prints were a tenth lower
than the flash and the data was released at 9:51BST by Bloomberg. Supply is also
thin on the ground today with Dutch and French bills the main supply in the euro
area. The UK DMO holds its quarterly consultation meetings with GEMMs and
investors today.
- Looking ahead, the highlights of the week on the calendar are the meetings
between Johnson and his European counterparts to discuss Brexit ahead of the G7
meetings in Biarritz. Eurozone flash PMIs will also garner attention, as will
the FOMC Minutes and Jackson Hole (which begins Thursday evening).
- Salvini has pushed again for elections over the weekend while MNI have
published an interview this morning with former-PM Renzi who has said that Italy
needs a wide coalition government fully supported by 5 Star.
- TY1 futures are down -0-17+ today at 130-12 with Bund futures down -0.49 at
178.11 and Gilt futures down -0.41 at 134.13.
