Spot USD/IDR has faltered in early trade and last sits -30 figs at IDR14,223, with little to rock the boat in local headline flow. Bears look for a break under Sep 7 low of IDR14,182, which would clear the way to May 10 low of IDR14,145. Bulls look for a move through the 200-DMA at IDR14,285.

  • USD/IDR 1-month NDF last -29 figs at IDR14,276. Bearish focus falls on Sep 7/Jun 11 lows of IDR14,201/14,198, while bulls would be pleased by a rebound above IDR14,340, which capped gains on Sep 8 & 9.
  • Indonesia and Australia announced Thursday that they will bolster bilateral cooperation on a number of fronts, including defence ties.
  • Focus turns to Indonesia's monthly trade data, due next Wednesday.
