RUSSIA: Chinese Premier Begins Visit to Russia

RUSSIA
  • Chinese Premier Li Qiang begins his visit to Russia, where he is set to meet with President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
  • Central bank data yesterday showed Russians' inflation expectations rose to 12.9% in August from 12.4% in July, the highest level since December.
  • The ruble price of Russia's Urals crude has risen by almost 8% in August, Kommersant report. This was primarily due to the weakening of the ruble, as the price of Urals on world markets is stable in dollar terms. The newspaper add that ruble prices are above the figures factored into the budget, which may enable the government to keep the deficit within the bounds of the planned RUB 2.1trln.
  • There are no economic releases scheduled for today. PPI figures for July will cross tomorrow.
