RUSSIA: Russia, China PMs Discuss Trade and Economic Cooperation

  • The prime ministers of Russia and China discussed trade and economic cooperation at their 29th regular meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, Vedomosti report. The two sides signed a joint communique, a plan for Russian-Chinese cooperation and 15 other documents, while also discussing increasing Russian gas and agricultural exports to China and establishing transport and logistics corridors.
  • Mortgage loans as a share of total lending in Russia shrank by half to 21% in July from 42% in June due to the end of the subsidized mortgage program and high interest rates, Kommersant report.
  • President Putin holds a meeting with the government today while the Bank of Russia reports the weekly change in international reserves.
