Russia's Baltic and Black Sea Diesel Exports Fall to Lowest Since 2021

DIESEL

Russia is planning to reduce diesel exports from its Baltic and Black Sea ports to the lowest since at least 2021 to 1.78m tons, or 427kbpd, in May, down from 625kbpd in April, Kpler data showed, cited by Bloomberg.

  • The drop would be for a fourth consecutive month with crude-processing rates down after Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries and seasonal maintenance. Rates averaged 5.23mbps in Apil 1-24 and the lowest since May 2023.
  • Russia has instructed oil producers “to maximise” supplies to the domestic market amid growing seasonal farming demand.
  • Diesel exports from the port of Primorsk are planned at 1.479m tons in May, exports from Vysotosk are planned at 0.014m tons and shipments from Novorossiysk are planned at 0.283m tons.
