Russian Ministry Says Fuel Production Back to Normal: BBC

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia’s Energy Ministry said the nation’s oil refineries have restored output of products to seasonal normal levels after an increase in output in April, the BBC reported.

  • “At the end of April, there was an increase in the production of motor fuels, designed to compensate for the volumes lost due to unscheduled repairs at refineries. In early May, the overall production of motor fuels returned to its previous level,” the ministry said, cited by the BBC.
  • Russia’s gasoline production in the seven days to May 5 is down 4.4% on the week at 780.6k mt, according to Rosstat, cited by Bloomberg.
  • Russia’s refinery output fell during the spring following attacks on its facilities by Ukrainian drones, as well as flooding.
  • Russia has an ongoing ban on gasoline exports to non-Eurasian Economic Union countries until Aug. 31, but may loosen that as the domestic market is now well supplied, Tass said May 7.
