OIL: Russian Tankers Redeploying to Eastern Trade

A number of tankers previously involved in Russia’s western facing trade have been redeployed to operate out of the eastern ports following the latest U.S. sanctions according to vessel tracking.
- Kozmino to China freight rates for ESPO more than tripled following the sanctions due to severe fleet restrictions. ESPO trade appears top have been the main target of sanctions.
- Around 900,000 bpd of ESPO was put under risk by the latest sanctions Vortexa calculations showed.
- The Maini most recently loaded at Kozmino on Jan. 13 and then discharged its cargo in Dongying in China’s eastern Shandong province. It very recently moved to eastern trade.
- The Jinjiang Experience and Bhilva also looks to be moving into the trade brokers told Bloomberg this week.
