Russia’s Daily Crude Flows from Arctic Stable in July

The total volume of crude and condensates shipped to export markets from Russia’s Arctic ports in July was stable in June at 353k b/d, Bloomberg said. This compares to 355k b/d in June.

  • Crude shipments from Murmansk averaged 316k b/d in July, up from 333k b/d in June.
  • All of the ships departing Murmansk in July appear to be headed to Asia, although most have not indicated a destination beyond the Suez Canal.
  • Russia’s Sovcomflot has now begun transportation of Urals crude to Asia via the Northern Sea route, sources told Reuters. This could have an impact for flows from August onwards.
