Russia’s Pacific Crude Flows Stable on the Month: Bloomberg

Shipments of Russian crude from its Pacific coast terminals were stable on the month in May, according to Bloomberg, while ESPO flows were up almost one third on levels prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in Feb 2022.

  • Terminals at Kozmino and De Kastri as well as Prigorodnoye on Sakhalin Island shipped 1.15m b/d in May, compared to 1.19m b/d in April.
  • However, the total volumes loaded were identical in April and May, with the daily average affected by the additional calendar day in May.
  • A total of 38 cargoes left Kozmino with ESPO, while eight Sokol grade cargoes left De Kastri.
  • Three cargoes of Sakhalin blend also left Prigorodnoye.
  • China was the main buyer and the destination for 937k b/d of Russian Pacific grades in May. This is down from 1.065m b/d in April.
  • 116k b/d were exported to India in May, slightly down from the 120k b/d in April.
