RWE Secures 4GW of Offshore Wind Capacity in German Tender

RWE has secured two offshore wind sites with a combined capacity of 4GW in the latest German offshore wind tender round, the firm said.

  • The utility will pay a total bid price of €250mn for both sites.
  • RWE is exploring to partner on the projects with TotalEnergies, with an FID on the projects made by 2027 for site N-9.1 and by 2028 for site N-9.2, with projects scheduled to come online in 2031 and 2032, respectively.
  • German auctioned a total of 5.5GW in the last offshore wind tender round from 1 August.
  • The other site N-9.3 with 1.5GW of capacity has been awarded to Waterekke Energy GmbH – a company connected to asset manager Luxcara according to RenewablesNow.
