Sakhalin 1 Output Recovers In November After Exxon Mobil Exit

Crude and condensate output at Russia’s Sakhalin 1 plant has recovered significantly in November, since production nearly stopped in mid-May, according to data from the Energy Ministry’s CDU-TEK unit.

  • 1-29 Nov output averaged 137.8k bpd, compared with 19.1k bpd a month earlier.
  • Output continues to lag last year’s levels that averaged 227k bpd.
  • Sakhalin 1 nearly stopped oil production by mid-May, following the exit of its former operator Exxon Mobil.
  • In October, Exxon Mobil completed its exit from Russia.
