Second Wilhelmshaven FSRU LNG Expected in H2

Germany’s DET expects commissioning of its second FSRU-based LNG import terminal in Wilhelmshaven in the second half of this year according to LNG Prime,

  • Construction of the new jetty, located 1.5 kilometers offshore Wilhelmshaven, is “progressing at full speed,” a DET spokesman said.
  • DET is also working to commission the Stade FSRU-based facility.
  • The 174,000-cbm FSRU Energos Force arrived at the jetty in Germany’s Stade in March and is yet to receive a commissioning cargo.
  • There is still work to be carried out before commissioning of the facility can commence, DET said.
  • The delayed Stade (7.5bcm/year) LNG terminal in Germany was previously expected to start at the end of Q1 and Wilhelmshaven 2 (4.5bcm/year) scheduled for operation in Q2.
  • DET currently operates the first Wilhelmshaven LNG terminal with the 170,000-cbm Hoegh Esperanza and the Brunsbüttel LNG terminal with the 170,000-cbm Hoegh Gannet.
