Reuters reporting that the Northern Israel areas of Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Gildali "have been declared a closed military zone," ahead of a likely IDF ground operation in Lebanon.
- Journalist Yossi Melman notes on X that the move, "suggests a ground mass in the near future but it will be limited. Occupying southern Lebanon (yet) is not on the agenda. Already in the morning there were infiltrations of special units into areas near the border. The goal is to gradually establish a safety belt."
- The New York Times reports: "Israeli reservists are gathering at assembly points in northern Israel ahead of a potential ground maneuver in Lebanon. Military police checkpoints along the northern roads are directing arriving soldiers to register, ensuring the detailed documentation of forces in the area.
- "In Kiryat Shmona, an Israeli border city, at least two dozen military Humvees were seen carrying troops in full combat gear, including night vision goggles. Dozens of logistical trucks, some armored, are also heading north, passing through the northern highways as the mobilization intensifies."
- US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters a short time ago: "We held talks with the Israelis regarding the possibility of ground action. So far they have told us that these are limited operations that will focus on Hezbollah's infrastructure near the border."
- Miller added, when pressed on if the US still support a ceasefire agreement: "The US still supports a ceasefire in Lebanon, but military pressure may help promote a diplomatic solution."
