September Economic Activity Data Due, President Boluarte At APEC

  • President Dina Boluarte will participate in the APEC Leaders' Meeting and will hold high-level meetings with leaders and entrepreneurs from the 21 economies that are part of the trade bloc. A headline crossed overnight that USTR’s Tai and Peru’s foreign trade minister Mathews are said to have discussed a US-Peru free trade pact.
  • Data due today should be significant for the central bank that have been gradually cutting rates by 25bp per meeting. As a reminder, Finance Minister Alex Contreras recently announced a package of $2.6 billion in government-backed loans meant to ensure businesses can keep paying their suppliers. Contreras said a recovery is expected to take place in the fourth quarter. Today’s data is due at 1500GMT/1000ET:
