Slovakia to Boost Power Exports to Ukraine in Autumn

Slovakia is planning to increase electricity exports to Ukraine in autumn and winter, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said, cited by RBC-Ukraine.

  • Pellegrini did not disclose by how much the country aims to boost power supplies to Ukraine.
  • Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Slovakia has exported over 40,000kWh of power to Ukraine, Pellegrini added.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenski confirmed this week he is working with neighbouring countries to increase Ukraine’s electricity imports.
  • The government previously reported Ukraine aims to increase its power import capacity to 2.5GW ahead of the upcoming winter.
