EURO-DOLLAR: ***Soft start to the new week for the single currency. The pair
opened in Asia at $1.1915 down from Friday's $1.1951 close in New York. Despite
Merkel winning her forth term, the overall election result is seen as a poor
outcome, with the biggest upset coming from the far-right AfD party, who are
forecast to take 13% of the vote. Many now see a lengthy coalition building
process with Merkel having to negotiate with at least two other parties. After
recovering to $1.1929 the Euro has since slipped below the figure to $1.1897.
Support is seen at $1.1866/62 (Sep21-20 lows), while topside resistance is
located at $1.1951 (NY close), with gaps generally filled. Euro was last at
$1.1900
