South Korea Bucks Trend On Recovery Optimism

Broad risk on trade again in the region amid positive developments in vaccine procurement/roll outs and a lack of significant catalysts to alter the course of market sentiment.

  • INDIA: Bond futures in India gapped lower on the open but have moved higher in early trade. The cash curve has bear steepened. Indian bond traders will await clarification of the budget from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who is scheduled to address the post-Budget meeting of the RBI's central board today.
  • SOUTH KOREA: Korean 10-year bond futures have rallied today after losing around 30 ticks into the close yesterday. The relief comes as the South Korean government announced deals to buy additional coronavirus vaccines for 23m people.
  • INDONESIA: Sovereign bonds are in narrow range ahead of auctions for debt from 5-30 year maturity for a total IDR 35t rupiah.
