South Korea Gasoline Exports at Record High in Oct

Refiners exported a record amount of gasoline from South Korea in October, according to Argus, amid ramped up production due to falling Chinese exports.

  • South Korea’s gasoline export volumes were 376k b/d in October, up 17% on the month and 63% on the year. This is the highest level since records began in 2012.
  • Total production was at its highest level since 2021 at 510k b/d in September. It is thought that South Korea refiners are ramping up production due to lower Chinese export volumes.
  • The yield of light distillates has been rising at refineries, with the refinery gasoline yield rising to 14.82%, according to Argus, a two-year high.
