Spain Grants 28GW of Renewables Construction Approval

POWER

Spain has granted 283 renewable power projects or around 28GW of capacity administrative construction authorisation (AAC), with most of the plants being PV, it said, cited by Renews.biz.

  • 43 or 2.6GW of the projects are wind, 239 projects or 24.8GW are solar farms and 573MW is hydro pump storage.
  • But in total 428 renewable projects had started the process to get the AAC, with 321 able to receive their EIA’s, with 70% of those cases able to be realised.
  • All approved projects must begin construction and be operational within 3 years, with Spain aiming to have 76GW of PV and 62GW of wind by the end of the decade.
