Spain May Block LNG Arrivals Amid High Storage

Spain may need to block LNG arrivals as the country’s regasification tanks are nearly at 100% full, TSO Enagas said Friday.

  • “Strong winds are significantly increasing wind power generation at the expense of gas-fired plants, whose gas demand has decreased compared to the initially forecast levels,” it added.
  • LNG tanks are at 95% of capacity, the TSO said.
  • Natural gas storage levels stood at 100.3% of capacity as of 11 November, GIE data showed.
  • Iberian LNG imports on 1-11 November stood at 55.5mcm/d, compared with an average of 57.7mcm/d in October, Bloomberg data showed.
