Spain to Launch €2.3bn Package for Renewables, Hydrogen

Spain has launched a new €2.3bn plan to support the country’s renewable energy transition, industry and include subsidies for green hydrogen, it said, cited by XM.

  • The plan will also encompass measures supporting agriculture, infrastructure, and villages in transitioning to renewables, Spains PM said.
  • Madrid also recently approved a €794mn package of subsidies for large green hydrogen projects in the country, which could allow for around 652MW of hydrogen capacity.
  • Spain is targeting 11GW of hydrogen capacity in its draft 2030 NECP plan.
