Stocks Softer as Markets Extend Wednesday Weakness

EQUITIES
  • Equity markets across Europe are lower, picking up on the negative theme from Wall Street after the Omicron variant was first detected in California. The DAX leads losses, dropping 1.3% while the UK's FTSE-100 fares slightly better - but still off 0.6% at pixel time.
  • Europe's tech and communication services names are leading losses, suggesting a rotation away from growth over value.
  • Across futures space, the e-mini S&P is in the green, adding 0.6%. Nonetheless, futures are still notably off yesterday's highs, with 4550 the first intraday resistance ahead of 4651.00 - the Wednesday high.
