Szijjarto Says Preventing Emergence of Divisive Blocs Vital to Sustainability

  • Responding to a report that a vice-president of the European Parliament was urging foreign companies to make investments in countries like Romania rather than in Hungary, a Hungarian foreign ministry official said, "Brussels has launched yet another attack against Hungary and Hungarians," according to MTI.
  • Current security risks "are diverting attention away from the biggest global challenges," Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at a meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council as per MTI. "The world is again being divided into blocs, rendering it almost impossible to see to tasks dedicated to protecting the environment and fighting climate change," he said.
  • Prime Minister Orban will attend the European Union and the Latin American and Caribbean (EU-CELAC) Summit in Brussels today. There are no major data releases scheduled for the rest of the week.
