CHINA DATA: The Caixin services PMI index, which gauges the activities of
China's smaller services companies, fell to 53.6 in January from 53.9 in
December, said Caixin, which independently publishes the data.
- The new orders sub-index rose at the highest pace in seventh months, with new
export orders hitting a 14-month high;
- Many companies reported recovering external demand and increase in new
overseas customers;
- The official PMI reported Thursday by the statistics bureau jumped to 54.7 in
Jan from 53.8 in Dec.
