OIL: The major oil benchmarks operate around settlement levels at writing. There
has been little in the way of headline catalysts apparent during Asia-Pacific
hours.
- This comes after crude benefitted from a WSJ source piece released Monday,
which suggested that Saudi will be cutting 800K b/d worth of exports vs. Nov
levels in the month of January, which would represent levels beyond its OPEC+
deal commitments. The piece also suggested that Saudi is seeking a return to
$80/bbl in price terms, although the cartel is always quick to stress that it
doesn't target specific price levels.
- The weekly API inventory estimate headlines Tuesday.
