FOREX: The overarching cautious tone, inspired by worries re: U.S.-China trade
relations and a series of disappointing corporate earnings reports in the U.S.
has failed to filter through into the G10 FX space to any meaningful degree.
- CHF has gained some poise amid the aforementioned cautious tone, but leads
gains by exceedingly narrow margins. Price action has been subdued across Asian
FX & EM FX as well.
- Japanese trade surplus was wider than expected, but underpinned by gloomy
imports and exports numbers. Exports posted a 7th straight Y/Y drop.
- BoK MonPol decision, UK retail sales and U.S. Philly Fed reading, as well as
the key Australian labour market report take focus today. On the speakers' slate
are Fed's Bostic and Williams, alongside ECB's de Cos.
