Tory Poll Rating Falls To 11-Month Low

The Times reports that the Conservative Party have "slumped to their worst poll rating in 11 months as the prime minister battles on several fronts." The latest YouGov survey for the Times showed that Labour leads the Conservatives by four percentage points, the largest gap since January.

  • The poll also found that two thirds of voters were questioning PM Johnson's integrity over his response to a Downing Street Christmas Party held in the midst of a London lockdown last year.
  • Johnson has also faced allegations of misleading his ethics advisor on the matter of a costly refurbishment of his Downing Street apartment.
  • Furthermore, a number of media outlets reported that there is mounting resistance within the Tory Party against the tightening of Covid-19 rules, which may force PM Johnson to rely on opposition votes to put the planned Christmas restrictions into law.
