TTF Continues Pull Back Before EU Meeting Tomorrow

TTF front month this morning traded below 200€/MWh for the first time since early August as the gas market continues to pull back from the recent peak of 280€/MWh at the start of the week.

    • TTF OCT 22 down -4.6% at 204€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 22 down -5% at 207.1€/MWh
    • TTF SUM 23 down -5.4% at 184.49€/MWh
  • EU energy minsters are considering possible intervention measures in reaction to the surging energy prices. A ministerial meeting to discuss the energy crisis, possible electricity and gas price caps and liquidity measures is due to take place on Friday.
  • Hopes are that winter demand can be met with increasing LNG supplies and demand reduction measures. The first new FSRU vessels into Europe have arrived in a Dutch port to be ready ahead of the winter season.
  • Supply from Norway is curtailed at 250.5mcm/d due to maintenance while gas transit via Ukraine is steady at 42.4mcm/d.
  • European gas storage levels are still increasing despite the missing Nord Stream supply with the overall EU up to 82.52% full.
