TTF Declines As Warm Weather & High Storage Offset Supply Risks

NATURAL GAS

TTF is ending the week down another 10% wk/wk with warm weather extending through the two week forecast. The front month contract has now fallen 57% since high in early December.

  • Supply risks from gas spreads and a dip in Ukraine transit gas earlier today provided some price support. The gas spreads are encouraging supply to Asia over Europe and LNG supply into Europe is down from the record levels seen in December levels.
  • European storage levels are now at very high seasonal levels having seen almost no net withdrawals in the last two weeks. European storage was at 83.35% as of 4 Jan.
    • TTF FEB 23 down -4.9% at 68.88€/MWh
    • TTF SUM 23 down -3.2% at 72.5€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 23 down -2.1% at 77.75€/MWh
    • TTF SUM 24 down -2.8% at 68.2€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 24 down -3% at 67.92€/MWh
