TTF Eases Back On Healthier Supplies

NATURAL GAS

TTF front month fell back on Monday given healthier supplies as LNG imports into NW Europe rebounded above the five-year average, while maintenance season in Norway is coming to an end.

  • TTF AUG 23 down -3.2% at 32.4€/MWh
  • TTF WIN 23 down -0.7% at 52.1€/MWh
  • US LNG exports are currently more profitable to Asia in August and September, but North Asian demand remains subdued on little summer trading. Europe is more profitable for October delivery.
  • JKM-TTF Aug 23 up 0.3$/mmbtu at 1.68$/mmbtu
  • The US LNG netback to Europe is currently $7.30/MMBtu for August, up 0.2% from July 7, when it was $7.29/MMBtu.
  • The US LNG netback to Asia is currently $8.28/MMBtu for August, down 0.9% from July 7, when it was $8.36/MMBtu.
  • Natural gas supplies from Norway are also improving as the annual maintenance period comes to an end. Pipeline imports from Norway have recovered from lows of below 220mcm/d in June back to 258.2mcm/d today.
  • The Oseberg field came back online on Sunday, one day earlier than previously scheduled.
  • The 79.8mcm/d Nyhamna processing plant is still scheduled to return on 15 July after an unplanned outage delayed its return from annual maintenance.
  • However, the maintenance at the Troll field has again been extended by three days until 13 July with 21.5mcm/d of unavailable capacity.
