TURKEY: 12-Month Ahead Inflation Expectations Decrease in July

  • Turkey’s 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectations decreased by 1.8ppts to 30.0% for market participants, while expectations increased by 0.5ppts to 72.0% for households, according to central bank data (see chart below).
  • Treasury & Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan attend G-20 meetings in Brazil. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attends a Turkey-ASEAN sectoral dialog partnership meeting.
