TURKEY: Consumer Confidence Edges Higher in August

  • Turkey's adjusted consumer confidence rose to 76.4 in August from 75.9 in July, recovering from a multi-month low, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
  • Hurriyet run a piece in which they write that Turkey is poised to become a major hub for global investments, particularly attracting international carmakers with various projects and production programs. They point to recent investments from Chinese EV manufacturer BYD, which could lead to a “domino effect” and encourage other companies to follow suit and consider Turkey for investment plans.
  • The central bank will publish weekly capital flows data at 12:30BST/14:30 local time. Foreign tourist arrival data will cross tomorrow.
