TURKEY: Household Inflation Expectations Edge Higher in August

  • Latest data released by the CBRT show 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectations decreased by 1.3 points to 28.7 percent for market participants in August, and by 1.2 points to 53.8 percent for the real sector. On the other hand, expectations increased by 1.1 points to 73.1 percent for households.
  • Bad debt on credit cards and loans is accumulating at an increasing pace, Dunya report, adding that non-performing loans rose from TRY 197.5bn at the end of March to TRY 249bn as of last week.
