UK DMO UPDATE: Bucket Changes and Short / Medium Auctions

UK DMO UPDATE

Bucket Changes:

  • The DMO is transferring GBP2.4bln from the unallocated portion of gilt issuance to the medium conventional bucket and GBP1.6bln to the linker syndication bucket. This reduces the unallocated bucket to GBP5.0bln.

Short Auctions

  • 3.75% Mar-27 gilt: One auction as expected: 23 October.
  • New 3-year gilt: Only one auction versus the two expected: 7 March 2028 maturity chosen (not a surprise): 13 November.

  • 4.00% Oct-31 gilt: 1 auction in the short bucket, which is a bit of a surprise (although not totally unexpected) as it's also being reopened in the medium-bucket. Auctions on 16 October and 4 December.

Medium Auctions:

  • 4.25% Jul-34 gilt: 3 auctions as expected: 9 October, 5 November, 11 December.
  • 4.00% Oct-31 gilt: One auction in the medium bucket and one in the short (see above).
  • 3.75% Jan-38 gilt: One auction as expected: 19 November.
  • 0.875% Jul-33 green gilt: No reopening as expected: There were only isolated calls from both GEMMSs and one investors for this green gilt to be reopened in the quarter.
