GILT SUMMARY: UK Prime Minister Theresa May will shortly be updating parliament
on the next steps that the government will take with respect to Brexit
negotiations. A spokesperson for the European Commission has already stated that
the UK government should not look to Brussels for answers.
- The gilt market has lacked direction and any sense of urgency. Yields at the
front-end have traded sideways while drifting lower at the longer-end. Current
yield levels: 2-year 0.775%, 10-year 1.308%, 30-year 1.819%. The curve is
1-1.5bps flatter on the day.
- The Mar-19 gilt future trades at 122.80 near the highs of the day.
- Breakevens are little changed and holding above 3%.
- The short sterling futures strip has flattened with greens/blues up 3.0-3.5
ticks. 
- The FTSE is trading unch on the day and cable is holding at 1.28
