Ukraine Maintains Drone Attacks on Russian Refining Over Weekend

Further Russian refineries were attacked by Ukrainian drones over the weekend as attacks maintain momentum.

  • The strikes on Saturday were targeted at plants in Russia’s Samara region – much deeper than prior attacks.
  • A petroleum product processing unit caught fire on the territory of the Rosneft PJSC oil refinery in Syzran according to RIA Novosti. It has a capacity of 170,000 bpd.
  • Another attack struck the Slavyansk-on-Kuban oil refinery in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar. The resulting fire has been extinguished.
  • An attempt to strike a second refinery in Novokuibyshevsk was thwarted.
  • Ukraine were also reported to have targeted the large Kuibyshev refinery.
