US Has Lowest Next Meeting Tightening Expectations In The $-Bloc

STIR

The market currently gives a tightening at the September 20 FOMC meeting virtually no chance after this week’s CPI data. November witnessed a notable 10% increase in such expectations earlier in the week but that has been subsequently unwound. The Fed is in its policy blackout period ahead of the FOMC meeting next week. The chances of a 25bp hike at the next policy meeting across the $-bloc sit at:

  • 2% for Sep 20 (FOMC);
  • 26% for Oct 25 (BoC);
  • 9% for Oct 3 (RBA); and
  • 14% for Oct 4 (RBNZ).
