US LNG up 2.8% in 2024 to Lead Global Exports: Kpler

LNG

The US to is expected to lead global LNG exports in 2024, up by 2.8% to 88mt according to Kpler.

  • LNG supply growth outside of the US may limit Asian demand for US supplies.
  • The extent of Asia’s LNG demand growth hinges on China with the country's LNG imports expected to increase by 7.7% y/y. But domestic gas production in China and pipeline gas imports could limit growth.
  • The rest of the world is about to see 3.2% growth in LNG demand, partially due to new facilities in Mozambique, Indonesia, Mexico, Congo, Senegal, and Mauritania.
