US SPR Withdrawals Slow to 111kbpd Last Week

The US drew a total of -0.8mbbls of SPR crude during the last week taking the total reserves to 371.6mbbls. The withdrawal was 0.5mbbls sweet and 0.3mbbls sour crude.

  • The drawdown speed has slowed to only 780kbbls (about -111kbpd) and was the smallest volume since September 2021.
  • Congress-mandated SPR sales amount to 26mbbls in FY 2023 to the end of September.
