The Washington Post reportsthat, acccording to data compiled by YouGov, Republicans are increasingly likely to consider themselves better off financially since the presidential election.

  • WaPo: “Among Democrats, views of how they fare now relative to a year ago haven’t changed much in the past month. Among Republicans, though, there’s been a 16-point drop in the percentage saying that they were doing worse a year ago.”
  • The survey data will provide a boost for President-elect Donald Trump as he seeks to insulate himself from negative economic perceptions that have damaged incumbent parties across the West, even after the transition to a new government.
