DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD has edged higher in early trade this week and last sits
at C$1.3263. This occured in spite of a modest uptick in oil prices overnight,
with WTI last trading ~$0.20 higher on the day after hitting fresh 2019 highs
overnight.
- Topside attention continues to be drawn by Friday's high of C$1.3284 and a
break above would bring the cloud top at C$1.3295 into view. Conversely, bears
need a fall below C$1.3233, where the rate bottomed Friday, before targeting the
100-DMA at C$1.3199.
- Canadian focus this week falls on domestic retail sales due Wednesday.
