USD Firms, But Remains Sub Wednesday Highs

Some modest USD buying has emerged in recent dealings. The BBDXY sits around session highs near 1224.60/70. This is still sub Wednesday NY highs at 1226.65/70. Cross asset signals are muted at this stage. US equity futures a touch higher, while US Tsy futures are a touch lower, but remain within recent ranges.

  • USD/JPY has edged above 143.40, while NZD/USD has slipped to 0.6235. Both currencies are away from Wednesday lows against the USD. AUD/USD is back to 0.6725/30.
  • USD/CNH dips sub 7.1600 have been supported, while onshore USD/CNY spot has risen since the open, last near 7.1580, after closing yesterday under 7.1500.
