DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY holds steady at Y107.81 after operating within an
exceptionally narrow range through the Asia-Pac session as USD weakness offset
the impact of a firmer Nikkei 225.
- A familiar technical picture remains intact with bulls watching the nearby
trendline resistance at Y107.89, ahead of the 100-HMA/21-DMA at Y108.01/03.
Bears need a dip below the 200-HMA at Y17.75 before challenging the cloud Tenkan
Sen, which comes in at Y107.66.
- Worth watching the escalating Japanese-Korean trade standoff, as Tokyo's
restrictions on exports to South Korea take effect today.
- Japanese docket is quite thin during the remainder of this week and includes
household spending data & 5-10 Year BoJ Rinban operations, due on Friday.
