KOREAN WON: USD/KRW last deals at KRW1,199.90, barely changed on the day. The
200-DMA/Jun30 low at KRW1,196.67/1,195.45 provide the initial bearish targets. A
break below there would open up Jun 11 low of KRW1,188.60, the key near-term
support. On teh flip side, a jump above Jun 25 high of KRW1,209.05 would expose
Jun 17 high of KRW1,218.60, located just above the descending 50-DMA.
- South Korean Pres Moon's office said after hours yesterday that the President
will seek an increase in the comprehensive real estate holding tax in order to
stabilize the housing market.
- Not much else seen out of South Korea so far, focus remains on familiar
concerns, namely spreading coronavirus infections around Seoul metropolitan area
and inter-Korean relations.
- Looking ahead, South Korea's BoP current account balance is due Tuesday.
